Charley Crockett has not released a record for a complete 16 months, which is just a small portion of the usual album release cycle for most artists. However, this is not the case for Crockett, as he managed to release an impressive nine records between 2018 and 2022, spanning over a span of five years.

Crockett's highly anticipated album, $10 Cowboy, is generating a lot of excitement due to the long wait and other factors. In his statement, Crockett described the album as a heartfelt tribute to his homeland, with a wandering and exploratory theme.

The writer mentioned that this content is produced in various locations such as truck stops, casinos, and even in the alleys behind venues. They also mentioned that they often write in their truck, which is usually parked on South Congress in Austin. As someone who constantly travels and moves around, they believe they are in a unique position to offer insights and opinions about America.

Crockett has consistently explored the theme of America, as he mentioned in an interview with Rolling Stone in 2021. He revealed that his song "Music City, U.S.A." also reflects his thoughts on the United States.

Collaborating with Billy Horton, Crockett has composed the title track for his album " $10 Cowboy," which embodies his signature style of gritty and authentic portrayals of the working class. Crockett and his band will premiere the song on the television show Jimmy Kimmel Live! this Monday evening.

In a statement accompanying his remarks, Crockett expressed that being on the road allows him to witness firsthand how different groups of Americans perceive themselves as going through significant struggles. He specifically mentions examples such as the hardworking individuals in the oil and gas fields of West Texas, single mothers raising children alone, and young men who feel compelled to work on street corners due to limited options. Crockett acknowledges that he can see a common thread among these individuals – they all feel invisible. He is deeply moved by the internal battles they face and how they have become trapped by society's perception of who they are.
