Chris Young Arrested for Disorderly Conduct and Alleged Assault of Officer at Nashville Bar: An Incident Explained

  • by

Country singer Chris Young was taken into custody for disorderly conduct and allegedly assaulting a police officer at a bar in Nashville.

Chris Young, an upcoming artist set to launch his latest album, Young Love & Saturday Nights, on March 22, found himself in trouble on Monday evening. He was reportedly involved in a heated altercation with an agent from the Tennessee Alcoholic Beverage Commission at a local bar in Nashville, leading to his subsequent arrest.

Based on arrest records acquired by Rolling Stone, Young, who is 38 years old, has been accused of disorderly conduct, resisting arrest, and assaulting a police officer.

The situation seems to have started when the TABC conducted a regular inspection of identification and license cards at bars located on Demonbreun Hill, a well-known area with nightclubs in Nashville. During the inspection at the bar called Tin Roof, Young willingly handed over his identification. However, instead of simply complying, he began to inquire and record videos of the agents.

Based on the document, Young and several of his friends proceeded to follow the agents to the Dawg House, which is a bar located nearby. It is alleged that Young prevented one of the agents from leaving the bar by blocking their path. The agent stated in the affidavit that while they were walking towards the door, Young extended his hands to stop them and then struck them on the shoulder. In response, the agent pushed Young away to create some distance because they were unaware of Young's identity or intentions.

According to the sworn statement, there was a confrontation and Young was detained and placed in handcuffs. The report mentioned that Young had red and watery eyes, and his speech was unclear. Young was taken to the Metro jail and released on Tuesday morning.
