  • by

Country singer Chris Young was apprehended for engaging in disorderly conduct and allegedly assaulting a police officer at a bar in Nashville.

Country singer Chris Young, set to launch his upcoming album Young Love & Saturday Nights on March 22, found himself in trouble on Monday night when he was taken into custody at a bar in Nashville. The arrest reportedly occurred due to an altercation between Young and an agent from the Tennessee Alcoholic Beverage Commission.

Based on the arrest documents obtained by Rolling Stone, a 38-year-old individual named Young was accused of disorderly conduct, resisting arrest, and assaulting a law enforcement officer.

The situation seemed to have started when the TABC conducted a regular inspection of identification and license cards at the bars located on Demonbreun Hill, a well-known area with nightclubs in Nashville. During the inspection at Tin Roof bar, Young presented his identification, and subsequently started to question and record the actions of the agents.

As per the document, Young and several of his friends then followed the agents to a nearby bar called the Dawg House. Allegedly, Young prevented one of the agents from leaving the bar by blocking their way. The agent stated in the affidavit that while they were walking towards the exit, Young extended his hands to stop them and struck them on the shoulder. In response, the agent pushed Young away to create distance, as they were unaware of who Young was or what he might do.

According to the affidavit, there was a confrontation and Young was detained and put in handcuffs. The report mentioned that Young's eyes were red and watery, and his speech was unclear. Young was taken into custody and released on Tuesday morning.
