Country singer Chris Young was taken into custody for disorderly conduct and is accused of assaulting a police officer at a bar in Nashville.

Country singer Chris Young, set to launch his new album Young Love & Saturday Nights on March 22, was taken into custody on Monday evening at a bar in Nashville. The arrest occurred following an alleged clash between Young and an official from the Tennessee Alcoholic Beverage Commission.

Based on legal records obtained by Rolling Stone, Young, who is 38 years old, was accused of engaging in disorderly conduct, refusing to comply with arrest, and assaulting a law enforcement officer.

The situation seems to have started when the TABC decided to conduct a routine check on the identification and license cards of people in the bars located on Demonbreun Hill, a well-known area with multiple nightclubs in Nashville. During the compliance check at Tin Roof, a bar, Young handed over his ID and then proceeded to ask the agents questions and film the interaction.

According to the document, Young and several of his friends then followed the agents to the Dawg House, which is a bar located nearby. Young allegedly prevented one of the agents from leaving the bar by blocking their path. The agent stated in the affidavit that while they were walking towards the exit, Young used his hands to try and stop them and also struck them on the shoulder. In response, the agent pushed Young away to create some distance between them since they were unaware of who Young was and what his intentions were.

According to the sworn statement, there was a confrontation that occurred, leading to Young being detained and placed in handcuffs. The report mentions that Young's eyes were red and watery, and he spoke in a slurred manner. Young was taken to the Metro jail and later released on Tuesday morning.
