Country singer Chris Young has been taken into custody for disorderly conduct and allegedly assaulting a police officer at a bar in Nashville.
Chris Young, an upcoming artist set to drop his new album titled Young Love & Saturday Nights on March 22nd, found himself in trouble on Monday night. The incident occurred at a bar in Nashville where Young allegedly got into a heated argument with an agent from the Tennessee Alcoholic Beverage Commission. As a result, he was taken into custody.
Based on the arrest documents Rolling Stone obtained, Young, who is 38 years old, was accused of disorderly conduct, resisting arrest, and assaulting an officer.
The situation seems to have arisen when the TABC conducted a standard check of identification and license cards at the bars located on Demonbreun Hill, a well-known area in Nashville with several nightclubs. During this check, the TABC asked for identification from the customers at Tin Roof bar. Young willingly provided his identification but then proceeded to question and film the agents.
Based on the document, Young and a group of friends followed the agents to a nearby bar called the Dawg House. Young allegedly blocked one of the agents from leaving the bar and physically hit him on the shoulder. The agent, not knowing who Young was or what he was capable of, pushed Young away to create distance between them.
According to the sworn statement, there was a confrontation, and as a result, Young was detained and placed in handcuffs. The report mentions that Young had bloodshot and watery eyes, and his speech was slurred. Young was then taken to the Metro jail and released on Tuesday morning.
