Eric Church and Morgan Wallen Acquire Field & Stream Magazine: A New Chapter in the Outdoors Publishing Industry

  • by

Eric Church and Morgan Wallen have taken on a new role as the owners of 'Field & Stream' magazine.

Eric Church and Morgan Wallen, both country singers, have entered the publishing industry by acquiring Field & Stream magazine. They have plans to revamp the well-known outdoorsy brand and transform it into a print magazine, a website, and an apparel company. Additionally, the duo intends to organize a live music festival as part of their venture.

The "Field & Stream 1871 Club" offers different subscription tiers, ranging from $15 to $95 per year, which grant subscribers online access to new articles about hunting, fishing, and outdoor activities, as well as access to the F&S archives. Subscribers who choose the top two tiers will also receive a physical copy of the Field & Stream print magazine, which is published twice a year in an 11 x 14 format. Additional benefits of the club include exclusive accessories for members, such as bandannas and hats, as well as early access to attend live events and purchase products. This may include tickets to a music festival, which is expected to be headlined by the new owners.

Church and Wallen have recently teamed up with a group of investors to acquire the Field & Stream retail brand from Dick's Sporting Goods and the media component from Recurrent, a digital media company.

In a statement, Church shared that his grandfather used to have a collection of his favorite Field & Stream magazines displayed on the dashboard of his truck. These magazines held great significance for Church and served as his guiding source. He considers it a great privilege and responsibility to continue the legacy of this American Icon. Additionally, he feels accountable to a young boy who sat in his grandfather's truck, aiming to be a guiding light for their journey ahead.

Wallen expressed his love for spending time with friends in various outdoor settings such as around a campfire, on a boat, or in a deer stand. He believes that Field & Stream embodies all of these experiences for him. He is thrilled to be a part of the future of Field & Stream and aims to continue bringing people together in the outdoors to create lasting memories for many generations to come.
