Eric Church and Morgan Wallen Purchase Field & Stream Magazine to Create New Outdoorsy Brand and Music Festival

  • by

Country music stars Eric Church and Morgan Wallen have taken on a new role as owners of the popular magazine 'Field & Stream'.

Eric Church and Morgan Wallen have recently ventured into the publishing industry by acquiring Field & Stream magazine. They plan to revamp the brand by reintroducing it as a print magazine, website, and apparel company, while also organizing a live music festival. This move signifies their foray into the outdoorsy market, joining the ranks of media mogul William Randolph Hearst.

The "Field & Stream 1871 Club" offers different subscription options for members to choose from, with prices ranging from $15 to $95 per year. These subscriptions grant online access to new articles about hunting, fishing, and outdoor activities, as well as access to the Field & Stream archives. Subscribers who opt for the top two tiers will also receive a print magazine, which is published twice a year and measures 11 x 14 inches. In addition, members will enjoy exclusive perks such as access to members-only accessories like bandannas and hats, as well as early access to live events and product purchases. This includes the opportunity to purchase tickets to a music festival, which is likely to feature the new owners as headliners.

Church and Wallen have recently joined a group of investors to acquire the Field & Stream retail brand from Dick's Sporting Goods and the media component from Recurrent, a digital media company.

Church stated that he has vivid memories of his grandfather storing his cherished Field & Stream magazines on the dashboard of his truck. These magazines held great significance to Church, serving as a valuable source of guidance and inspiration. He considers it a tremendous honor to ensure that this legacy continues. Church feels a profound responsibility towards preserving the heritage of an American Icon, as well as nurturing the passion of a young boy who sits in his grandfather's truck. This sense of responsibility will serve as a guiding force in their actions.

Wallen expressed his love for spending time with friends in various outdoor settings such as around a campfire, on a boat, or in a deer stand. He sees Field & Stream as representing these experiences and feels honored to be a part of its future. Wallen's goal is to continue bringing people together in the outdoors and creating lasting memories for future generations.
