Eric Church and Morgan Wallen have taken on a new role as owners of 'Field & Stream' Magazine.
Eric Church and Morgan Wallen, two country singers, have recently acquired Field & Stream magazine and are planning to revive the brand. They will be transforming it into a print magazine, a website, and an apparel company, while also organizing a live music festival. This move puts them in the publishing industry, following the footsteps of influential figures like William Randolph Hearst.
The “Field & Stream 1871 Club" offers different subscription tiers for subscribers. These tiers range in price from $15 to $95 per year and provide online access to new hunting, fishing, and outdoor stories, as well as access to the F&S archives. Subscribers who choose the top two tiers will also receive the Field & Stream print magazine, which is published twice a year in an 11 x 14 format. In addition to the magazine, members will also receive exclusive accessories such as bandannas and hats, and have the opportunity for early access to live events and product purchases. This may include tickets to a music festival that is likely to have the new owners as headliners.
Church and Wallen have partnered with a group of investors to acquire the Field & Stream retail brand from Dick's Sporting Goods and the media component from Recurrent, a digital media company.
In a statement, Church shared that his grandfather used to store some of his beloved Field & Stream magazines on the dashboard of his truck. These magazines held great significance to Church and were like a guiding force for him. He feels incredibly privileged to continue his grandfather's legacy, as it is not only a responsibility towards an esteemed American Icon but also towards a young boy sitting in his grandfather's truck. This responsibility will serve as the guiding principle for their actions.
Wallen expressed his love for spending time with friends in various outdoor settings such as around a campfire, on a boat, or in a deer stand. He believes that Field & Stream encompasses all of these activities and holds a special place in his heart. He feels privileged to be a part of the magazine's future and is committed to bringing people together in the great outdoors, creating lasting memories for generations to come.
