Loretta Lynn’s Son’s Post-Surgery Update: A Disappointing Outcome

  • by

Loretta Lynn's family recently shared that her son, Ernest Ray Lynn, who is 69 years old, had to undergo surgery due to kidney failure. However, the initial outcomes of the procedure reveal that it did not go as well as expected by the doctors.

Crystal, the wife of Ernest, shared an update with fans on Thursday (Jan. 25) regarding his recent operation. She had initially shared details on Facebook and had mentioned that the doctors would provide more information on the success of the surgery on that day.

In her update, she expressed that the day did not go as expected but they are determined not to lose hope. They firmly believe that the operation will be successful and that their needs will be met by the Lord. They humbly request prayers for the new device to begin working tomorrow morning. They have strong faith in God and the efficacy of prayer, and they are grateful for the ongoing prayers, care, and friendship of others.

As of Sunday, Crystal has not provided any further official updates on Ernest, but she has taken to social media to inform her fans that the family is still praying for her husband. She has also shared a collection of photos of Ernest, some of which seem to have been taken while he was in the hospital.

Loretta Lynn had the unfortunate experience of losing two of her children, who she had with her late husband Oliver "Doolittle" Lynn. Her eldest daughter Betty Sue passed away in 2013 due to complications from emphysema, while her eldest son Jack Benny tragically drowned in 1984 while trying to cross a river on their family property in Hurricane Mills, Tennessee.

Lynn passed away on October 4, 2022, at her residence in Hurricane Mills at the age of 90. Throughout her life, she established herself as one of the most influential figures in country music, earning the record for the highest number of accolades received by a female country artist.
