Loretta Lynn’s Son’s Post-Surgery Update: A Disappointing Outcome and Continued Prayers

  • by

Loretta Lynn's family recently shared an update on her son, Ernest Ray Lynn, who underwent surgery to treat his kidney failure. Regrettably, the initial outcomes of the procedure did not meet the expectations of the doctors.

Crystal, the wife of Ernest, shared an update with fans on Thursday (Jan. 25) regarding her husband's recent operation. She had initially shared details on Facebook and mentioned that this update would come a few days after the surgery, as it would provide more information about the success of the procedure.

In her update, she expressed that the day did not turn out as expected, but they remain determined. They have full faith that the operation will be a success and that their needs will be met by the Lord. They kindly requested prayers for the device to start functioning properly the next day. They firmly believe in God and the strength of prayer, and they are grateful for the ongoing support, care, and friendship.

As of Sunday, Crystal has not provided any additional official updates on Ernest. However, she took to social media to inform fans that the family is still keeping him in their prayers. Crystal also shared a collection of photos of Ernest, some of which seem to have been captured while he was hospitalized.

Loretta Lynn experienced the unfortunate loss of two of her children, who were born to her late husband, Oliver "Doolittle" Lynn. The first was their oldest daughter, Betty Sue, who passed away in 2013 due to complications from emphysema. The second was their oldest son, Jack Benny, who tragically drowned in 1984 while trying to cross a river on their property in Hurricane Mills, Tennessee.

Lynn passed away on October 4, 2022, at her residence in Hurricane Mills at the age of 90. Throughout her life, she achieved legendary status in country music and holds the record for being the most decorated female country artist.
