Morgan Wallen Claps Back at Ex-Managers, Releases New Song in Response to Unauthorized Music Release

  • by

Country music artist Morgan Wallen expresses his anger towards his former managers for releasing his old music without his consent. In response, he retaliates by releasing a new song.

On Friday, Morgan Wallen released a new song called "Spin You Around (1/24)" as a response to his former managers allegedly releasing old songs without his permission. Wallen explained the situation to his fans in a lengthy Instagram post the day before.

Wallen stated that in 2014, he relocated to Florida in order to create and produce his own music. This decision eventually resulted in him signing a recording agreement as well as an artist management agreement, both of which he now highly regrets. Wallen admitted that he made the decision to sign these deals without seeking legal advice.

According to him, they created a total of 13 songs. However, he admitted that most of them were not very good because he was still in the process of learning how to write and figure things out. It's important to note that he had other people collaborating with him, so some of the songs were not his own ideas and did not meet his personal standards.

According to the singer, the outcome of those recording sessions was an EP called Stand Alone, which consisted of five tracks. One of the songs on the EP, titled "Spin You Around," gained popularity among fans. Now, a decade later, Wallen reveals that his former colleagues are planning to release the original EP again, along with eight previously unreleased songs.

Wallen expressed his disgust and disapproval towards a particular aspect of the music industry, describing it as distasteful, driven by excessive greed, and a prime illustration of how it can drain the passion and essence from artists.

Wallen has announced that he will re-record the song "Spin You Around" in response to the recent controversy. Additionally, he has decided to donate $100,000 from his Morgan Wallen Foundation to a Tennessee organization called Volunteer Lawyers & Professionals for the Arts. This organization provides legal assistance to artists. Wallen hopes that his actions will inspire young aspiring musicians to never compromise their creative freedom for opportunities in the music industry.
