Morgan Wallen Fights Back Against Ex-Managers, Releases New Song “Spin You Around

  • by

Country singer Morgan Wallen expresses anger towards his former managers for releasing his old music without his consent, and retaliates by releasing a new song in response.

Country singer Morgan Wallen released a new song called "Spin You Around (1/24)" on Friday as a response to his former managers allegedly releasing old songs without his consent. Wallen explained the situation to his fans in a lengthy Instagram post on Thursday.

According to Wallen, he went to Florida in 2014 to write and record his own music. This eventually resulted in him signing a recording deal and an artist management deal, which he now deeply regrets. Wallen admitted that he made these agreements without seeking legal advice.

According to the speaker, they created a total of 13 songs. While they admitted that a few of the songs were decent, the majority of them were considered terrible because they were still in the process of learning how to write songs and figuring things out. It's important to note that the speaker also mentioned that they were not the sole collaborator in the project, which means that many of the songs were not their original

The singer stated that after those sessions, they produced a five-track EP called Stand Alone. One of the songs on the EP, titled "Spin You Around," became popular among fans. Now, after 10 years, Wallen reveals that his former colleagues are releasing the original EP along with eight previously unreleased songs.

Wallen expressed his disgust and criticized the music industry for its greed, highlighting how it can exploit and drain the creativity and passion of artists.

In response, Wallen has stated that aside from recording a new version of "Spin You Around," he will be making a donation of $100,000 from his Morgan Wallen Foundation to the Volunteer Lawyers & Professionals for the Arts program. This organization, based in Tennessee, offers legal assistance to artists. Wallen hopes that young musicians who aspire to make it in the industry will read about his situation and understand that they should never have to sacrifice their creative freedom for opportunities in the business.
