Morgan Wallen Releases New Song “Spin You Around (1/24)” in Response to Ex-Managers’ Release of Old Music

  • by

Country music singer Morgan Wallen expresses anger towards his former managers for releasing his old music without his permission. In response, he retaliates by releasing a new song.

Morgan Wallen released a new song called "Spin You Around (1/24)" on Friday as a response to his former managers allegedly releasing old songs without his consent. Wallen explained the situation to his fans through a lengthy Instagram post on Thursday.

In 2014, Wallen decided to move to Florida in order to focus on writing and recording his own music. As a result, he ended up signing a recording deal and an artist management deal, which he later admitted to regretting. Wallen mentioned that he made the decision to sign these deals without seeking advice from a lawyer.

According to him, they created a total of 13 songs. While some of them were decent, the majority of them were not very good because he was still in the process of learning how to write and figure everything out. He emphasized that since there were other collaborators involved, many of the songs were not his own ideas and did not meet his personal standards.

The singer has revealed that the outcome of those recording sessions was a five-track EP called Stand Alone, which featured a popular song called "Spin You Around" that gained a lot of support from fans. Now, after 10 years, Wallen has announced that his former colleagues will be re-releasing the original EP along with eight previously unreleased songs.

Wallen expressed his disapproval by describing it as repulsive, avaricious, and a clear illustration of how the negative aspects of the music industry can drain artists of their creativity and passion.

In response, Wallen states that he will be re-recording the song "Spin You Around" and is also donating $100,000 from his Morgan Wallen Foundation to the Volunteer Lawyers & Professionals for the Arts program. This program, based in Tennessee, provides legal support to artists. Wallen hopes that aspiring musicians read his story and understand that they should never have to sacrifice their creative freedoms for opportunities in the music industry.
