Country singer Morgan Wallen expresses anger towards his former managers for releasing his old music without his permission. In response, Wallen retaliates by releasing a new song.
Country singer Morgan Wallen released a new song called "Spin You Around (1/24)" on Friday in response to his former managers allegedly releasing old songs without his consent. Wallen explained the situation to his fans in a long Instagram post on Thursday.
Wallen relocated to Florida in 2014 with the intention of composing and producing his own music. During this time, he secured a recording contract and an artist management agreement, both of which he now deeply regrets. Wallen admitted that he made these agreements without seeking legal advice.
According to him, a total of 13 songs were created. While some of them were decent, the majority were awful because he was still in the process of learning how to write and understand the craft. He emphasized that he wasn't the sole contributor, so many of these songs didn't align with his vision or meet his expectations.
The singer states that after the recording sessions, they released a five-track EP called "Stand Alone." One of the songs from the EP, titled "Spin You Around," became popular among fans. Now, after 10 years, the singer's former colleagues are planning to re-release the original EP along with eight previously unreleased songs.

Wallen expressed his disgust and criticism towards the music industry, describing it as selfish and representative of the negative aspects that can drain artists of their passion and creativity.
In response, Wallen states that he will not only re-record his song "Spin You Around," but he will also donate $100,000 from his Morgan Wallen Foundation to the Volunteer Lawyers & Professionals for the Arts program. This program, based in Tennessee, provides legal advice to artists. Wallen hopes that young musicians who aspire to be in the industry will read about his actions and understand that they should never have to sacrifice their creative freedoms for opportunities in the music business.

The country singer also urged his fans to disregard any unauthorized music that may be released and announced that he will start working on his next project in late February. He assured his fans that when new music is ready, he will personally announce it.
Wallen stated that he wrote his Instagram post about "Spin You Around" while he was on a trip for duck-hunting.
