Surveillance Video Raises Questions About Chris Young’s Arrest: Contradicts Officer’s Assault Claims

  • by

The arrest of Chris Young is being questioned as surveillance video contradicts the claims made by the officer regarding an assault.

Video footage captured on the night of Chris Young's arrest at a bar in Nashville seems to challenge the assertions made by a Tennessee Alcoholic Beverage Commission agent. The agent had claimed that the country singer had assaulted him during the incident on Monday night.

There are two surveillance videos that were shared on Facebook by Nick Beres, a reporter from Nashville's Newschannel 5. The videos show Young, who is wearing a leather jacket, walking towards the undercover TABC agents. He touches one of the agents on the arm in a non-aggressive manner. In response, the agent forcefully pushes Young, causing him to fall over a bar stool at the Dawg House bar.

After the incident, Young was accused of disorderly conduct, resisting arrest, and assaulting an officer. The video footage does not capture the actual arrest or whether Young resisted. However, according to the arrest affidavit obtained by Rolling Stone, the agent claimed that Young prevented them from leaving the Dawg House and physically blocked their path, as well as hitting the agent on the shoulder. The video evidence suggests that the agent's account was exaggerated.

On January 24, 2024, a video was shared on Twitter by user @MCFongduck showing the arrest of Chris Young at a bar in Nashville. The video can be viewed in the attached link.

Young is standing by, intending to inquire about the reason behind the men taking a photo of his ID. He reaches out to request the agent to halt and engage in a conversation. However, instead of complying, the agent forcefully pushes Young, causing him to fall to the ground. According to Young's attorney, his client simply wanted to verify the identity of the individuals, who were not clearly dressed in uniforms, and inquire about the purpose of the ID photo.

After being pushed by the agent, Young is observed stepping back from the argument with his hands raised, as his colleagues and a few other customers gather around the agents.

Beres mentioned that according to Young's lawyer, the treatment his client received in the Dawg House was unjust and he should not have been arrested. The lawyer also believes that ABC should withdraw the charges against Young and offer an apology.

According to the affidavit, Young exhibited signs of intoxication such as bloodshot and watery eyes, as well as slurred speech. He was arrested and later released from the Metro jail on Tuesday morning. Young's next court appearance for the charges is set for February 16th.

A video footage, provided by Chris Young's attorney, has been released which is bringing up doubts about the country star's arrest at a well-known bar in Nashville on Monday night. The video can be found at https://t.co/U3pK1GNdbq. The source of the video is Bill Ramsey.

According to a statement made by Young's lawyer, Bill Ramsey, he expressed his belief that the singer's arrest was unjust and urged for the charges against him to be dismissed.

Ramsey, the client's lawyer, believes that it was unjust for Chris Young to be arrested and charged for the incident at a bar in Nashville. Ramsey argues that, considering the video evidence, the Tennessee ABC should drop the charges against Young and issue an apology for the harm caused to him both physically, emotionally, and professionally.
