Watch as Brittney Spencer performs songs from her album "My Stupid Life" on the show "Saturday Sessions".

Brittney Spencer, an up-and-coming country singer, performed songs from her first album, titled "My Stupid Life," on the latest Saturday Sessions segment of CBS Saturday Morning.

During the performance, the singer who was born in Baltimore sang three songs from her highly recommended LP that was released earlier this month. The songs she performed were titled "My First Rodeo," "I Got Time," and "If You Say So."

Rolling Stone described My Stupid Life as a combination of energetic pop-rock, soulful textures, and catchy pop anthems. The album draws inspiration from a country genre that transcends specific labels, similar to Maren Morris' influential album Hero.

Spencer has put together a talented team, including producer Daniel Tashian, to showcase her versatile voice and insightful writing. As a result, the record stands out without needing to constantly prove its authenticity to the Nashville music scene. This makes it one of the most convincing country albums in recent times.

In 2023, Spencer spoke to Rolling Stone for their Future 25 list. They discussed their journey from Baltimore to Nashville, which gained attention due to their viral performance of the Highwomen's "Crowded Table." This led to a friendship with Maren Morris, opening acts for Reba McEntire, Bruce Springsteen, and Brett Eldredge, as well as an appearance on Jason Isbell's Georgia Blue covers album.

Spencer expressed that her initial experiences in this field were with individuals who provided her with a strong sense of security. She considers The Highwomen as her family and feels a great level of comfort with them. Jason Isbell also played a significant role in making her feel safe. Additionally, touring with Brett Eldredge and Reba allowed her to witness their kindness, warm welcome, and authentic selves, which in turn gave her the confidence to be her true self both on and off stage.
