Chris Young Exonerated: Charges Dropped After Nashville Bar Arrest

  • by

Chris Young has been found not guilty of all charges following his arrest at a bar in Nashville.

Country singer Chris Young has been found not guilty after being accused of engaging in a dispute with an agent from the Tennessee Alcoholic Beverage Commission, which resulted in his arrest on Monday evening.

On Friday, the District Attorney of Nashville, Glenn Fun, released a statement stating that the charges against Chris Young will be dropped after carefully examining all the evidence in the case.

Young was accused of engaging in disorderly conduct, resisting arrest, and assaulting an officer. The incident supposedly occurred during a regular inspection of identification and license cards conducted by the TABC at bars located on Demonbreun Hill, a well-known area with multiple nightclubs in Nashville. While the TABC was verifying the IDs of customers who were drinking at the Tin Roof bar, Young willingly presented his identification but then proceeded to question and record the actions of the agents.

According to an arrest affidavit obtained by Rolling Stone, the agent stated that Young prevented them from leaving Dawg House and physically stopped them by putting his hands on the agent's shoulder. However, surveillance video from the night of the arrest seems to contradict these claims, as it does not show Young assaulting the officer.

After the arrest, Young's lawyer, Bill Ramsey, stated that the arrest was unjust and requested for the charges to be dismissed.

Ramsey, the lawyer representing Chris Young, expressed his belief that the events that occurred at a bar in Nashville on Monday night were unjust. He firmly believes that his client should never have been arrested or charged in the first instance. Ramsey insists that, considering the video evidence available, the Tennessee ABC should dismiss the charges against Young and issue an apology for the physical, emotional, and professional damage inflicted upon him.
