Country Artist Chris Young Cleared of Charges in Nashville Bar Arrest: What Led to the Dismissal?

  • by

Chris Young has been acquitted of all charges following his arrest at a bar in Nashville.

Chris Young, a country artist, has been found not guilty of any charges after supposedly getting into a dispute with an agent from the Tennessee Alcoholic Beverage Commission. This incident led to his arrest on Monday evening.

On Friday, the District Attorney of Nashville, Glenn Fun, released a statement stating that the charges against Chris Young will be dropped after a thorough examination of all the evidence in the case.

Young was accused of committing disorderly conduct, resisting arrest, and assaulting an officer. The situation apparently arose when the TABC was conducting a standard check on identification and licenses at bars located on Demonbreun Hill, a well-known area in Nashville with multiple nightclubs. During the TABC's inspection of patrons' IDs at Tin Roof bar, Young provided his identification but then proceeded to question and record the agents.

According to an arrest affidavit obtained by Rolling Stone, the agent stated that Young prevented them from leaving Dawg House and physically stopped them by placing his hands on the agent's shoulder. However, surveillance footage from the night of the arrest seemed to contradict the claim that Young assaulted the officer during the incident on Monday night.

After the detention, Young's lawyer, Bill Ramsey, stated that the arrest was unjust and demanded the charges to be dismissed.

Ramsey, the client's attorney, expressed his belief that the actions taken against Chris Young at a bar in Nashville were unjust and that he should not have been arrested or charged. Ramsey argues that, considering the evidence provided by the video, the Tennessee Alcohol Beverage Commission should dismiss the charges against Young and issue an apology for the harm caused to him both physically, emotionally, and professionally.
