Chris Young has been taken into custody for disorderly conduct and is accused of assaulting a police officer at a bar in Nashville.
Country singer Chris Young, who has an upcoming album called Young Love & Saturday Nights set to release on March 22, was taken into custody on Monday evening at a bar in Nashville. The incident occurred when he reportedly engaged in a dispute with an official from the Tennessee Alcoholic Beverage Commission.
Based on the arrest records obtained by Rolling Stone, Young, who is 38 years old, has been accused of committing disorderly conduct, resisting arrest, and assaulting a police officer.
The situation seems to have started when the TABC was conducting a regular check of identification and license cards at bars located on Demonbreun Hill, which is a well-known area for nightclubs in Nashville. During the check at the Tin Roof bar, Young handed over his ID and then proceeded to inquire and record the actions of the TABC agents.
Based on the document, Young and several of his friends then followed the agents to a bar called the Dawg House. Young allegedly prevented one of the agents from leaving the bar by blocking their path and physically hitting the agent on the shoulder. In response, the agent pushed Young away in order to create some distance, as they were unaware of Young's identity or intentions.
According to the affidavit, there was a confrontation and Young was detained and put in handcuffs. The report mentions that Young had bloodshot and watery eyes, and his speech was unclear. Young was taken to the Metro jail and released on Tuesday morning.
