Eric Church and Morgan Wallen have taken on a new role as owners of the popular magazine, 'Field & Stream'.
Eric Church and Morgan Wallen, two country singers, have made a move into the publishing world by acquiring Field & Stream magazine. They plan on reviving the brand by reintroducing it as a print magazine, a website, and an apparel company. Additionally, they have intentions to organize a live music festival under the Field & Stream name.
The "Field & Stream 1871 Club" offers different subscription tiers, with prices ranging from $15 to $95 per year. Subscribers will have online access to new stories about hunting, fishing, and the outdoors, as well as access to the F&S archives. Those who choose the top two tiers will also receive the Field & Stream print magazine, which is published twice a year in an 11 x 14 format. In addition, members will have exclusive access to accessories like bandannas and hats, early access to live events, and the opportunity to purchase products, including tickets to a music festival that is expected to feature prominent artists.
Church and Wallen have partnered with a group of investors to acquire the Field & Stream retail brand from Dick's Sporting Goods, as well as the media component from Recurrent, a digital media company.
Church expressed that his grandfather used to store some of his beloved Field & Stream magazines on the dashboard of his truck. These magazines held great significance for Church, serving as his source of guidance and inspiration. Church feels privileged to continue his grandfather's legacy and ensure that the values and traditions represented by Field & Stream are preserved. He sees it as his duty to uphold the reputation of this iconic American publication, all while keeping in mind the impact it had on a young boy sitting in his grandfather's truck. Church believes that these factors will serve as the guiding principles for their future endeavors.
Wallen expressed his love for spending time with friends in various outdoor settings such as around a campfire, on a boat, or in a deer stand. He believes that Field & Stream embodies these experiences and he is thrilled to be a part of its future. Wallen aims to continue bringing people together in the outdoors, creating lasting memories for future generations.
