Eric Church and Morgan Wallen Take on New Role as Owners of Field & Stream Magazine

  • by

Eric Church and Morgan Wallen have taken on a new role as the owners of 'Field & Stream' Magazine.

Country musicians Eric Church and Morgan Wallen have entered the publishing industry by acquiring Field & Stream magazine. They have ambitious plans to revamp the brand by reintroducing it as a print magazine, website, and apparel company. Additionally, they intend to organize a live music festival as part of their venture. This move makes them comparable to media mogul William Randolph Hearst in their foray into the publishing world.

The "Field & Stream 1871 Club" offers different subscription tiers, with prices ranging from $15 to $95 per year. Subscribers will have online access to new articles about hunting, fishing, and outdoor activities, as well as access to the F&S archives. Those who choose the two higher tiers will also receive the Field & Stream print magazine, which is published twice a year in an 11 x 14 size. In addition to this, members will also receive exclusive accessories like bandannas and hats, early access to attend live events, and the opportunity to purchase products before they are available to the public. This includes the chance to buy tickets to a music festival, which is likely to feature popular headlining acts.

According to an announcement, Church and Wallen have partnered with a group of investors to acquire the Field & Stream retail brand from Dick's Sporting Goods and the media component from Recurrent, a digital media company.

Church stated that his grandfather used to keep some of his favorite Field & Stream magazines on the dashboard of his truck. These magazines were extremely important to Church and he considered them his guiding principle. He feels privileged to continue his grandfather's legacy and ensure that the values associated with this iconic American publication are upheld. Church believes that his responsibility extends not only to the magazine itself but also to the memories of a young boy sitting in his grandfather's truck, and he intends to use these as his moral compass moving forward.

Wallen expressed his love for spending time with friends in various outdoor settings such as around a campfire, on a boat, or in a deer stand. He believes that Field & Stream represents these activities and being a part of its future is an incredible opportunity. Wallen's goal is to continue bringing people together in the outdoors and creating lasting memories for future generations.
