Hayden Panettiere Opens Up About the Trauma of Filming ‘Nashville

  • by

In a recent interview, Hayden Panettiere, known for her role in the hit TV show 'Nashville', shared that the experience of filming the show had a significant emotional impact on her, describing it as "very traumatizing". Despite her professional success, Panettiere opened up about the challenges she faced while working on the series.

Panettiere played the role of Juliette Barnes, a country star, in the TV show Nashville from 2012 to 2018. She has openly spoken about her challenges with alcohol, opioids, and post-partum depression. In a recent interview, she revealed that the writers on the show took inspiration from her real-life experiences for her character's storylines, making the filming process particularly challenging for her.

Panettiere expressed her thoughts on the show, stating that from the beginning, it felt like they were mirroring her life. She mentioned how her character dated a football player, just like she did in real life. Furthermore, she felt that the showrunners portrayed her character as an alcoholic and had her abandon her daughter to go to Europe, which she found very obvious. Panettiere believed that the writers were not being creative and were simply taking elements from her own life and putting their own spin on them. This lack of originality frustrated her.

Panettiere expresses that her time on Nashville was filled with professional success, but she also found it emotionally distressing because she felt as though she was reliving her own personal experiences through her character.

Panettiere is planning to go on a tour called "A Conversation With Hayden Panettiere" across three cities. Through this tour, she aims to inspire and support individuals who are facing similar challenges as she has in her own life.
