Loretta Lynn's family recently shared the news that her son, Ernest Ray Lynn, who is 69 years old, had to undergo surgery due to kidney failure. Regrettably, the initial outcomes of the procedure suggest that it did not achieve the desired level of success according to the doctors' expectations.
Crystal, the wife of Ernest, shared an update with fans on Thursday (Jan. 25) regarding Ernest's recent surgery. She had initially shared details on Facebook and mentioned that the doctors would provide more information on whether the surgery was successful on that particular day.
In her update, she expressed that the day did not go as expected, but they remain determined. They have strong faith that the operation will be successful and that their needs will be met by the Lord. They humbly request prayers for the new device to start functioning tomorrow morning. They firmly believe in the power of prayer and are grateful for the ongoing support, care, and friendship.
Crystal has not provided any recent official updates on Ernest, but she has taken to social media to inform fans that they are still praying for her husband. Additionally, she shared a collection of photographs of Ernest, some of which seem to have been captured while he was in the hospital.
Loretta Lynn's late husband, Oliver "Doolittle" Lynn, had two children with her who sadly passed away before her. Her oldest daughter, Betty Sue, died in 2013 due to complications from emphysema. Additionally, her oldest son, Jack Benny, tragically drowned in 1984 while trying to cross a river on their family property in Hurricane Mills, Tennessee.
Lynn passed away on October 4, 2022, at her residence in Hurricane Mills, at the age of 90. Throughout her life, she achieved legendary status in the realm of country music and held the record for being the most decorated female country artist in history.
