Loretta Lynn's family recently provided an update on the condition of her son, Ernest Ray Lynn, who underwent surgery for his kidney failure. Regrettably, the initial outcomes of the procedure suggest that it did not yield the desired results as anticipated by the doctors.
Crystal, the wife of Ernest, shared an update with fans on Thursday (Jan. 25). This update came a few days after Ernest had the operation. Crystal had mentioned earlier that this was the day when doctors would provide more information on the outcome of the surgery.
In her update, she expressed that the day did not go as expected, but they are determined not to give up. They have complete faith that the operation will be successful and that their needs will be fulfilled by the Lord. They kindly request prayers for the new device to begin functioning for them tomorrow morning. They strongly believe in God and the power of prayer, and they are grateful for the ongoing prayers, care, and friendship.
As of Sunday, Crystal has not provided any further official updates on Ernest. However, she has used social media to inform fans that her family is still praying for her husband. Additionally, she has shared a collection of photos of Ernest, some of which seem to have been captured while he was in the hospital.
Loretta Lynn has experienced the unfortunate loss of two of her children, whom she had with her late husband Oliver "Doolittle" Lynn. One of them was their oldest daughter Betty Sue, who passed away in 2013 due to complications from emphysema. The other was their eldest son Jack Benny, who tragically drowned in 1984 while trying to cross a river on their family property in Hurricane Mills, Tennessee.
Lynn passed away on October 4, 2022, in her residence in Hurricane Mills at the age of 90. Throughout her life, she achieved legendary status in the world of country music and held the record for being the most decorated female country artist in history.
