The recent update on Loretta Lynn's son, Ernest Ray Lynn, after his surgery is not the positive news we were anticipating. Loretta Lynn's family had previously informed the public that the 69-year-old was undergoing surgery to treat his kidney failure. However, the initial outcome of the procedure suggests that it did not achieve the desired success according to the doctors' expectations.
Crystal, the wife of Ernest, shared an update with fans on Thursday, a few days after Ernest had his surgery. Crystal had previously mentioned on Facebook that the doctors would have more information on the success of the surgery on that day.
In her update, she expressed that the day did not go as expected but they are determined to not lose hope. They firmly believe that this operation will be a success and trust that the Lord will provide for their needs. They kindly request prayers for the new device to start working effectively the following morning. They have faith in God and the strength of prayer, and are grateful for the ongoing prayers, care, and friendship received.
Crystal has not provided any additional official information about Ernest since Sunday, but she has used social media to inform fans that her family is still praying for her husband. She also shared a collection of pictures of Ernest, some of which seem to have been taken while he was in the hospital.
Loretta Lynn has survived the passing of two of her children, whom she had with her late husband Oliver "Doolittle" Lynn. The first was their oldest daughter Betty Sue, who passed away in 2013 due to complications from emphysema. The second was their oldest son Jack Benny, who tragically drowned in 1984 while trying to cross a river on their property in Hurricane Mills, Tennessee.
Lynn passed away on October 4, 2022 at her residence in Hurricane Mills. At the age of 90, she had established herself as a prominent figure in country music and held the record for being the most decorated female country artist in history.
