Country singer Morgan Wallen expresses anger towards his former managers for making his old music public without his consent. In response, Wallen retaliates by releasing a new song.
Country singer Morgan Wallen released a new song called "Spin You Around (1/24)" on Friday as a response to his former managers allegedly releasing old songs without his consent. Wallen took to Instagram on Thursday to explain the situation to his fans in a lengthy post.
In 2014, Wallen relocated to Florida with the intention of creating and recording his own music. This decision ultimately resulted in him entering into agreements for both a recording deal and an artist management deal, which he now admits to regretting. Wallen acknowledges that he made the mistake of signing these deals without seeking legal advice.
According to him, a total of 13 songs were created. While some of them were decent, the majority were quite awful because he was still in the process of grasping the art of songwriting. It's important to note that he was not the sole contributor to these songs, meaning that many of them did not align with his own ideas or meet his personal standards.
The singer has revealed that the outcome of those recording sessions was a five-track EP called Stand Alone, which included a song named "Spin You Around" that gained popularity among fans. Now, after 10 years, Wallen has announced that his former colleagues will be releasing the original EP again, along with eight previously unreleased songs.

Wallen expressed his disgust and criticism towards the music industry, describing it as repulsive, selfish, and a prime illustration of how it can drain the artistic essence from musicians.
Wallen has responded to the controversy by stating that he will not only re-record the song "Spin You Around," but also donate $100,000 from his Morgan Wallen Foundation to the Volunteer Lawyers & Professionals for the Arts program. This program, based in Tennessee, offers legal assistance to artists. Wallen hopes that his actions will inspire young musicians to never compromise their creative freedom for opportunities in the music industry.
