‘Nashville’ Star Hayden Panettiere Opens Up About Traumatic Experience Filming the Show

  • by

Hayden Panettiere, known for her role in the hit TV show 'Nashville', recently revealed in an interview that filming the show had a deeply distressing impact on her. Despite achieving significant success in her professional life through the show, Panettiere described the experience as "very traumatizing."

From 2012 to 2018, Panettiere played the role of a country singer named Juliette Barnes on the TV show Nashville. Throughout her career, she has been vocal about her battles with alcohol, opioids, and post-partum depression. In a recent interview with the Messenger, she revealed that the show's writers drew inspiration from her personal experiences, resulting in challenging filming experiences for her.

Right from the start, it felt like I was dating a football player, and then Juliette starts dating a football player too," Panettiere explains. "But then they portrayed her as an alcoholic. And then they had her abandon her daughter and go to some crazy place in Europe, and it was very clear… They weren't being creative. They weren't coming up with new storylines. They were just taking inspiration from my life and putting their own twist on it. And just like that, it's done and over with."

According to Panettiere, her time on the television show Nashville was professionally fulfilling. However, she also expressed that the experience was emotionally distressing because she felt like she was reliving her own personal life through her character.

Panettiere has planned a tour called "A Conversation With Hayden Panettiere" in three cities, aiming to inspire and support individuals facing similar challenges as she has experienced.
