Surveillance Video Exposes Contradictions in Chris Young’s Arrest: Officer’s Assault Claims Disputed

  • by

The arrest of Chris Young has been called into question as surveillance video contradicts the officer's claims of assault.

Footage captured on surveillance cameras at a bar in Nashville seems to challenge the statements made by a Tennessee Alcoholic Beverage Commission agent who claimed that country singer Chris Young had assaulted him during an altercation on Monday night.

Two surveillance videos were uploaded on Facebook by Nick Beres, a reporter from Nashville's Newschannel 5. The videos show Young, who is wearing a leather jacket, calmly approaching the plainclothes TABC agents. He lightly touches one of the agents on the arm. In response, the agent forcefully pushes Young, causing him to fall over a bar stool at the Dawg House bar.

Young was accused of engaging in disorderly conduct, resisting arrest, and assaulting an officer after the incident. The video footage does not capture the actual arrest of Young or whether he resisted. However, according to the arrest affidavit obtained by Rolling Stone, the agent alleged that Young "blocked" the agents from leaving Dawg House and "placed his hands out to prevent me from leaving the bar and struck me on the shoulder." However, the video suggests that this account was exaggerated.

A Twitter user named Fongduck posted a video on January 24, 2024, showing an incident where Chris Young was arrested at a bar in Nashville. The video can be seen in the attached link.

Young is standing by, wanting to inquire about why the men took a picture of his identification. He extends his hand to approach the agent and request a conversation. However, the agent forcefully pushes Young, causing him to fall to the ground. According to Young's attorney, his only intention was to verify the identity of the individuals, who were not clearly identifiable by their uniforms, and inquire about the purpose of photographing his ID.

After being pushed by the agent, Young retreats from the conflict with his hands raised, as his companions and a few other customers gather around the agents.

Beres mentioned that according to Young's lawyer, the treatment his client received at the Dawg House was unjust, and he should not have been arrested. The lawyer further advised that ABC should withdraw the charges and issue an apology.

According to the affidavit, Young displayed symptoms of intoxication such as red and watery eyes and slurred speech. He was arrested and later released from Metro jail on Tuesday morning. Young's next court appearance for the charges is set for February 16th.

There is a security video that has been made public by Chris Young's lawyer, which has led to questions about the country star's arrest at a popular bar in Nashville on Monday night. The video can be viewed at the provided link.

According to a statement from Young's lawyer, Bill Ramsey, he believes that the singer's arrest was unjust and he is requesting for the charges to be dismissed.

Ramsey, Chris Young's lawyer, believes that the arrest and charges against his client were unjustified. He argues that the Tennessee ABC should drop the charges and apologize for the harm caused to Young, both physically and emotionally.
