Panettiere has been public about her battles with alcohol, opioids, and post-partum depression. In a recent interview, she revealed that the show's writers drew heavily from her real-life experiences when creating her character's storylines. This made filming particularly challenging for her.
Right from the start, it felt like I was dating a football player, and then Juliette also dates a football player," Panettiere explains. "But then they portrayed her as an alcoholic. Then they had her leave her daughter and go to some crazy place in Europe, and it was very clear… They weren't being creative. They weren't coming up with new storylines. They were just taking inspiration from my life and putting their own twist on it. And just like that, it's done and over with."
Panettiere expresses that her time in Nashville was fulfilling for her professional growth, but she found the experience to be distressing as it felt like she was reliving her own life through her portrayal on the show.
Panettiere plans to begin a tour across three cities called "A Conversation With Hayden Panettiere." The purpose of this tour is to inspire and support individuals who are facing similar challenges as she has.
