Parton suggests that she could potentially lead a contest called "Finding Dolly," where they would conduct an extensive search to find three actors to portray different versions of the character. These versions would include a young Dolly, a Dolly from her earlier years, and an older Dolly.
"We will be holding auditions and searching for talented individuals using various methods. I believe this will also be an enjoyable experience for people," Parton explains. "You never know where we might discover them. They could be completely new to performing, or perhaps they have participated in local theater productions. Nonetheless, the search for these individuals will be an exciting part of the process."
Parton has mentioned the idea of a musical about her life before, although not for the first time. She has discussed it in various interviews. Recently, in her latest conversation with People, she mentioned her desire to have the show ready by "late '25".
