Actress Hayden Panettiere, known for her role in the hit TV show Nashville, recently opened up about her experience working on the series. Despite achieving great success in her professional career through the show, Panettiere shared in a recent interview that the filming process had a significant impact on her mental well-being, describing it as "very traumatizing."
Actress Panettiere played the role of Juliette Barnes, a country star, in the television series Nashville, which aired from 2012 to 2018. She has been transparent about her battles with alcohol, opioids, and post-partum depression. In a recent interview, she revealed that the show's writers drew extensively from her own experiences for her character's storylines, which added to the challenges of filming.
Right from the start, it felt like I was dating a football player, and then Juliette started dating one too," Panettiere explains. "Then they portrayed her as an alcoholic. After that, they had her abandon her daughter and go to this crazy place in Europe, and it was clear that they weren't being original. They weren't coming up with new storylines. They were just taking inspiration from my own life and adding their own twist to it. And just like that, it was done and over with."
Panettiere expressed that her time on Nashville was fulfilling for her professional growth, but it had a significant emotional impact on her as she felt that she was reliving her own personal experiences through her character portrayal.
Panettiere has planned a tour called "A Conversation With Hayden Panettiere" that will take place in three cities. Her aim is to inspire and support individuals who are facing similar challenges to what she has experienced.
