Jon Pardi’s Wife Opens Up About Surprising Pregnancy Journey with Baby No. 2

  • by

Jon Pardi and his wife Summer have recently announced that they are expecting their second child. The couple is now fully immersed in preparing for the arrival of their baby, and Summer shared some insights into her current pregnancy through an Instagram Stories Q&A session over the weekend.

During a Q&A session on Saturday (Jan. 27), the singer's spouse responded to several inquiries from fans regarding pregnancy and babies. Among the topics discussed was the revelation of how she discovered her current pregnancy. She confessed that the news came as a surprise, not due to a lack of effort in trying to conceive, but rather because it had taken them a significant amount of time to become pregnant with their one-year-old daughter, Presley.

Summer shared in one slide that they faced significant challenges in conceiving their child Presley. Despite trying for two years and being informed that they needed to undergo in vitro fertilization (IVF), they unexpectedly became pregnant naturally when they decided to let go of all the stress and pressure. Consequently, in October, they made the decision to try for another child, anticipating that it might be another lengthy journey, only to be pleasantly surprised.

She discovered her pregnancy in the morning when she took a pregnancy test. Initially, the test showed a negative result. She woke up early in the morning and decided to take the test because she and her partner had been trying to conceive for a few weeks. After seeing the negative result, she felt disappointed, threw the test in the trash, and went back to bed.

Luckily, the story did not conclude at that point. After a few hours, Summer had a feeling and decided to retrieve the pregnancy test from the garbage and reexamine it. To her surprise, the test showed a positive result. Summer realized that she had become accustomed to COVID-19 tests providing instant results and had forgotten that pregnancy tests take a few minutes to fully develop.

In other parts of the Q&A, Summer confesses that she was taken aback when she discovered that they were going to have another girl. This was particularly surprising to her because she noticed significant differences in the symptoms she experienced compared to her first pregnancy. During this pregnancy, she suffered from intense nausea from weeks 5 to 10, which led her to believe that she was carrying a boy. As a result, she had already chosen a theme for the nursery and made all the necessary preparations accordingly.

In the beginning of this month, the Pardis used a creative method to reveal the gender of their baby by removing two slices from a pepperoni pizza, which uncovered pink slips of paper. Both Summer and her husband, who is a country singer, were taken aback by the news of having another girl in the family, but they are extremely thrilled about it.

The well-being of a joyful and healthy baby is of utmost importance to us. Additionally, we are content with having two babies at the moment. While I cannot completely rule out the possibility, we currently do not have any intentions or arrangements for a third baby.

The couple is having a disagreement about what to name their upcoming baby. Summer claims that Pardi, who already chose their first child's name, dislikes all of her suggestions for their second baby's name. As a result, they are currently not speaking, although Summer admits she is joking. She also shared a list of her current favorite name options, which include Aspen, Grace, Nelli, Skeye, and others.

Pardi and Summer tied the knot in 2020, and their lovely baby girl, Presley, was born in February 2023. When they made the happy announcement about their pregnancy, they mentioned that they had been actively trying to have a baby since their wedding day. They even sought advice from doctors but decided to take a break from their efforts to conceive. Surprisingly, shortly after that break, they successfully became pregnant.
