Summer, the wife of Jon Pardi, recently shared exciting details about her second pregnancy with fans. The country couple is fully focused on preparing for their new addition and Summer provided a glimpse into her current pregnancy journey through an Instagram Stories Q&A session over the weekend.
The singer's spouse took the time on Saturday (Jan. 27) to respond to some inquiries from fans regarding pregnancy and babies. Among the topics discussed was how she discovered she was expecting this time. She confessed that the news caught her off guard, not because they weren't attempting to conceive, but because it took them a significant amount of time to become pregnant with their first child, Presley, who is now one year old.
Summer shared that they experienced a great deal of difficulty conceiving their child, Presley. They attempted for two years and were advised to pursue in-vitro fertilization (IVF). However, they unexpectedly became pregnant naturally when they decided to let go of all the stress and pressure. Following this experience, they made the decision to start trying for another baby in October, considering the possibility of another prolonged journey to conception.
On the morning when she discovered her pregnancy, she began by taking a test that initially seemed to show a negative result. She woke up very early in the morning and had to use the bathroom, so she decided to take a pregnancy test because she and her partner had been trying to conceive in the past few weeks. She observed the test, which indicated a negative result, and felt disappointed. She then discarded the test in the trash and went back to sleep.
Luckily, the story didn't conclude there. After a few hours, Summer had a feeling and decided to retrieve the discarded pregnancy test to recheck the results. To her surprise, the test showed a clear positive sign. Summer realized that she had become accustomed to COVID-19 tests providing instant results and had forgotten that pregnancy tests need a few minutes to fully develop.
In other parts of the Q&A session, Summer confesses that she was taken aback when she discovered that they were going to have another girl. This came as a surprise to her because she noticed significant differences in the symptoms she experienced compared to her first pregnancy. During this pregnancy, she felt extremely nauseous from weeks 5 to 10, which led her to believe that she was carrying a boy. She even went as far as choosing a nursery theme based on this assumption.
Earlier this month, Pardis used a unique method to reveal the gender of their upcoming baby. They pulled apart two slices of a pepperoni pizza to uncover pink slips of paper beneath. Summer and her husband, who is a country singer, were both taken by surprise to learn that they would be welcoming another girl into their family. However, Summer expresses that they are extremely enthusiastic about this news.
The well-being of a happy and healthy baby is our top priority. Additionally, we are content with having two babies at the moment. While I won't completely rule out the possibility of a third baby, we currently do not have any intentions or plans for expanding our family.
Although the couple agrees on most aspects of parenthood, they currently have a disagreement regarding the name of their upcoming baby. Summer reveals that her partner, Pardi, does not like any of her suggestions for baby number two and believes that he gets to choose the name again. As a result, they are currently not speaking to each other, although Summer mentions that she is joking. She also shares a list of her favorite name options for their baby, which includes Aspen, Grace, Nelli, Skeye, and others.
Pardi and Summer tied the knot in 2020 and welcomed their baby, Presley, in February 2023. When they revealed their pregnancy, they mentioned that they had been actively trying to conceive since their wedding. They even sought advice from medical professionals but decided to take a break from their attempts. Surprisingly, shortly after taking this break, they successfully became pregnant.
