In a recent interview, Hayden Panettiere, known for her role in the hit show Nashville, revealed that filming the show had a profound and distressing impact on her. She described her experience as "very traumatizing."
Panettiere played the role of Juliette Barnes, a popular country singer, in the TV series Nashville, which aired from 2012 to 2018. Throughout her career, the actress has been transparent about her battles with alcohol, opioids, and post-partum depression. In a recent interview, she revealed to the Messenger that the show's writers heavily drew inspiration from her personal experiences for her character's storylines. This made the filming process particularly challenging for her.
Right from the start, it felt like I was dating a football player, and then Juliette starts dating a football player as well," Panettiere explains. "And then they portrayed her as an alcoholic. After that, they had her abandon her daughter and go to some crazy place in Europe, and it was very obvious that they weren't being original. They weren't coming up with new storylines. They were simply taking inspiration from my life and putting their own twist on it. And just like that, it's done and over with."
Panettiere expresses that her time on Nashville was highly fulfilling in terms of her career. However, she also shares that the experience was emotionally distressing as she felt as though she was reliving her own personal life through her acting.
Panettiere has planned a tour in three different cities called "A Conversation With Hayden Panettiere." The purpose of this tour is to inspire and support individuals who are facing similar challenges and difficulties as she has experienced in her own life.
