The Trauma Behind the Success: Hayden Panettiere Opens Up About Her Experience on ‘Nashville

  • by

In a recent interview, Hayden Panettiere, known for her role in the hit TV show 'Nashville', shared that her experience filming the show had a significant impact on her mental and emotional well-being, describing it as "very traumatizing." Despite achieving great success in her career through the show, Panettiere reveals the challenges she faced while working on set.

Panettiere played the role of Juliette Barnes, a country star, in the TV show Nashville, which aired from 2012 to 2018. She has been candid about her battles with alcohol, opioids, and post-partum depression. In a recent interview, she reveals that the show's writers heavily drew inspiration from her real-life experiences for her character's storylines, making the filming process particularly challenging for her.

Right from the start, it felt like I was dating a football player, and then Juliette also dates a football player," Panettiere explains. "And then they portray her as an alcoholic. After that, they have her abandon her daughter and go to a crazy place in Europe, and it was clear that they were not being original. They were simply taking my life and adding their own twist to it. And voila! It's finished."

Panettiere expresses that her time on Nashville was highly fulfilling in terms of her career. However, she admits that the experience was emotionally distressing as she felt like she was reliving her own personal life through her acting.

Panettiere is planning to go on a tour called "A Conversation With Hayden Panettiere" across three cities. The purpose of this tour is to inspire and support individuals who are facing similar challenges as she has experienced.
