The Trauma Behind the Success: Hayden Panettiere Opens Up About Her Experience on ‘Nashville

  • by

Hayden Panettiere, known for her role in the popular TV show 'Nashville', recently opened up about her experience filming the series. Despite achieving great success professionally, she revealed in a recent interview that the show had a significant impact on her, describing it as a "very traumatizing" experience.

Panettiere portrayed Juliette Barnes, a country singer, in the television series Nashville, which aired from 2012 to 2018. The actress has been candid about her battles with alcohol, opioids, and post-partum depression. In a recent interview, she reveals that the show's writers heavily drew inspiration from her real-life experiences to develop her character's storylines, which made the filming process particularly challenging.

Right from the start, it felt like I was dating a football player, and then Juliette also dates a football player," Panettiere explains. "But then they portrayed her as an alcoholic. After that, they had her abandon her daughter and go to some crazy place in Europe. It was clear that they weren't being original in their storytelling. They were simply taking elements from my life and putting their own twist on it. And just like that, the storyline was complete."

According to Panettiere, her time on Nashville was highly fulfilling in terms of her career. However, she found the experience to be emotionally distressing as she felt like she was reliving her own life through her character.

Panettiere plans to kick off a tour called "A Conversation With Hayden Panettiere" that aims to inspire and support individuals who are facing similar challenges as she has in her life.
