The Trauma Behind the Success: Hayden Panettiere Opens Up About Her Time on ‘Nashville

  • by

Hayden Panettiere, known for her role in the hit TV show 'Nashville', recently revealed in an interview that filming the show had a profound impact on her, describing it as a "very traumatizing" experience. Despite the success she achieved through her role, Panettiere found the process of working on the show to be emotionally challenging.

Panettiere played the role of Juliette Barnes, a country star, in the TV series Nashville, which aired from 2012 to 2018. She has publicly shared her challenges with alcohol, opioids, and post-partum depression. In a recent interview, she revealed that the writers of the show took inspiration from her own experiences for her character's storylines, making the filming process particularly challenging for her.

Right from the beginning, it felt like I was dating a football player and then Juliette starts dating a football player too," Panettiere explains. "Then they portrayed her as an alcoholic. After that, they had her abandon her daughter and go to some crazy place in Europe, and it was clear that they weren't being creative. They were simply taking elements from my life and adding their own twist to it. And just like that, it's done and over with."

Panettiere expresses that her time on Nashville was fulfilling in terms of her career. However, she describes the experience as deeply distressing because she felt as though she was reliving her own personal life through her character.

Panettiere is planning to go on a tour called "A Conversation With Hayden Panettiere" in three different cities. Through this tour, she aims to inspire and support individuals who may be facing similar challenges as she has in her own life.
