Actress Hayden Panettiere, known for her role in the hit TV show "Nashville," recently revealed in an interview that filming the series had a significant emotional impact on her, describing it as a "very traumatizing" experience. Despite achieving great success in her professional life through the show, Panettiere admits to the challenging nature of the filming process.
In the TV show Nashville, Panettiere played the role of Juliette Barnes, a famous country singer. The show aired from 2012 to 2018. Panettiere has been honest about her challenges with alcohol, opioids, and post-partum depression. During a recent interview with the Messenger, she shared that the show's writers took inspiration from her own experiences to develop her character's storylines. This made the filming process particularly challenging for her.
Right from the start, it felt like I was dating a football player, and then Juliette also started dating a football player," Panettiere explains. "And then they portrayed her as an alcoholic. After that, they had her abandon her daughter and go to some crazy place in Europe. It was clear that they weren't being creative with the storylines. They were just taking elements from my own life and adding their own twist to it. And voila, it's finished."
Despite finding success in her career during her time in Nashville, Panettiere admits that the show was emotionally distressing for her as she felt like she was reliving her own life through her character.
Panettiere plans to begin a tour called "A Conversation With Hayden Panettiere" that aims to inspire and support individuals facing similar challenges as she has.
