In a recent interview, Hayden Panettiere, known for her role in the TV show 'Nashville', revealed that despite the success she achieved through the show, the filming process was personally distressing for her.
Panettiere played the role of Juliette Barnes, a country star, in the television series Nashville from 2012 to 2018. Throughout her career, the actress has been transparent about her challenges with alcohol, opioids, and post-partum depression. In a recent interview with the Messenger, she revealed that the show's writers drew heavily from her real-life experiences when creating storylines for her character. This made the filming process particularly challenging for her.
Right from the start, it felt like I was dating a football player, and then Juliette starts dating one too," Panettiere explains. "Then they made her character an alcoholic. After that, they had her leave her daughter and go to some crazy place in Europe, and it was very obvious that they weren't being original. They weren't coming up with new storylines. They were just taking inspiration from my life and putting their own twist on it." And just like that, it's done.
Panettiere acknowledges that her time in Nashville brought her professional success, but she describes the experience as emotionally distressing because she felt as though she was reliving her own personal life through her character.
Panettiere has planned a tour called "A Conversation With Hayden Panettiere" that will take her to three cities. The purpose of this tour is to inspire and support individuals who are facing similar challenges as she has in her life.
