Hayden Panettiere, known for her role in the hit TV show 'Nashville,' recently shared in an interview that filming the series had a significant impact on her emotional well-being, describing it as a "very traumatizing" experience. Despite the show's success, Panettiere reveals the challenges she faced during its production.
Panettiere played the role of Juliette Barnes, a country star, in the television series Nashville, which aired from 2012 to 2018. Throughout her career, Panettiere has been honest about her battles with alcohol, opioids, and post-partum depression. In a recent interview, she reveals that the show's writers drew heavily from her personal experiences to shape her character's storylines, resulting in a challenging filming process for her.
Right from the start, it felt like I was dating a football player, and then Juliette also starts dating a football player. Then they portray her as an alcoholic. After that, they show her abandoning her daughter and going to Europe, which was clearly not well thought out. It seemed like they were not putting in the effort to come up with new storylines. Instead, they were simply taking aspects of my life and adding their own twist to it. And just like that, they were done with the storyline.
Panettiere expresses that her time on the show Nashville was highly fulfilling for her professional growth. However, she also reveals that the experience was deeply distressing as it seemed to mirror her personal life, causing her emotional turmoil.
Panettiere plans to start a tour called "A Conversation With Hayden Panettiere" that aims to inspire and support individuals facing similar challenges as she has experienced.
