The Traumatizing Reality: Hayden Panettiere Opens Up About Her Experience on ‘Nashville

  • by

Hayden Panettiere, known for her role in the hit series 'Nashville,' recently shared in an interview that filming the show had a significant impact on her mental and emotional wellbeing, describing the experience as "highly distressing."

In the television series Nashville, Panettiere played the role of Juliette Barnes, a country music star. The show aired from 2012 to 2018. Panettiere has been vocal about her own battles with alcohol, opioids, and post-partum depression. During a recent interview, she revealed that the writers of the show drew inspiration from her personal experiences, making the filming process particularly challenging for her.

Right from the start, it felt like I was dating a football player, and then Juliette also started dating a football player," Panettiere explains. "But then they portrayed her as an alcoholic. After that, they made her abandon her daughter and go to some crazy place in Europe. It was clear that they weren't being original in creating new storylines. They were simply taking elements from my life and putting their own twist on it. And just like that, it was finished."

According to Panettiere, her time on the show Nashville was fulfilling in terms of her career. However, she also describes it as a distressing experience because she felt as though she was reliving her own life through her acting.

Panettiere is preparing to begin a tour called "A Conversation With Hayden Panettiere" in three different cities. The purpose of this tour is to inspire and support individuals who are facing similar struggles as she has experienced.
