The Traumatizing Side of Success: Hayden Panettiere Opens Up About Her Experience on ‘Nashville

  • by

Hayden Panettiere, known for her role in the hit TV show 'Nashville', revealed in a recent interview that her experience working on the show had a significant emotional impact on her, describing it as "extremely distressing".

Panettiere played the role of Juliette Barnes, a famous country singer, on the TV show Nashville, which aired from 2012 to 2018. Throughout her career, Panettiere has been candid about her battles with alcohol addiction, opioid abuse, and post-partum depression. In a recent interview, she reveals that the writers of the show drew heavily from her own experiences to create the storylines for her character. This made the filming process particularly challenging for her.

Right from the start, it felt like I was dating a football player and then Juliette starts dating one too," Panettiere explains. "And then they portrayed her as an alcoholic. Then they had her abandon her daughter and go to some crazy place in Europe, and it was very obvious… They didn't do their research. They weren't creating new storylines. They were just taking inspiration from my life and putting their own twist on it. And just like that, it's done and over with."

According to Panettiere, her time on Nashville was fulfilling in terms of her career. However, she found the experience to be personally distressing as she felt that she was reliving her own life through her acting.

Panettiere has planned a tour called "A Conversation With Hayden Panettiere" that will take place in three different cities. The purpose of this tour is to inspire and support individuals who are facing similar challenges as she has in her own life.
