Chris Young has been found not guilty of any wrongdoing in relation to the incident that took place at a bar in Nashville on Monday night.
Glenn Funk, the District Attorney of Nashville, issued a statement stating that the charges will be dropped "following a thorough examination of all the evidence presented in this particular case."
The short statement provided did not provide further details, however, Young's attorney had requested the complete dismissal of charges and a formal apology after a video emerged showing Young being forcefully pushed to the ground by a TABC agent.
The singer of the song "Young Love & Saturday Night" seems to extend his arm towards an agent, but then he is forcefully pushed. Following this, the 38-year-old singer loses his balance and falls backwards into the bar, eventually landing on some chairs close by.
According to attorney Bill Ramsey, the arrest and charges against his client Chris Young at a bar in Nashville on Monday night were unjust and should never have occurred. Ramsey provided a statement to Taste of Country on Wednesday (Jan. 24) expressing his belief.
Young and TABC had their initial encounter at the Tin Roof bar a short while ago. According to the agency's report, Young raised his identification above his head and cooperated with the verification process. However, later on, he returned with bloodshot and watery eyes, as noted in the report, and his speech was also slurred.
A representative acknowledged that they did encourage Young to "put some space between" themselves and someone else. However, when footage of the incident became public, the majority of people sided with Young.
Taste of Country was given four distinct camera views, which allows fans to assess the level of aggression displayed by Young in the video above. Young has not made any statements regarding the incident on social media at this time.
