After the incident at a Nashville bar on Monday night, Chris Young has been declared innocent and all charges against him have been dropped.
Glenn Funk, the District Attorney of Nashville, has issued a statement declaring that the charges will be dropped "following a thorough examination of all the evidence involved in this particular case."
The concise statement did not provide any further details, but the attorney representing Young had requested complete dismissal of the case and an apology. This request came after a video emerged showing Young being forcefully pushed to the ground by an agent from the TABC.
The singer of "Young Love & Saturday Night" seems to extend his arm in front of an agent, but is then forcefully pushed. Following this, the 38-year-old singer collapses backwards into the bar and subsequently tumbles onto chairs that are nearby.
Attorney Bill Ramsey states that the incident involving his client Chris Young at a bar in Nashville on Monday night was unjust and he strongly believes that Young should not have been arrested and charged in the first instance. Ramsey's statement was given to Taste of Country on Wednesday (Jan. 24).
Young and TABC initially encountered each other at the Tin Roof bar a short while ago. According to the agency's report, Young raised his identification above his head and cooperated with the verification process. However, later on, he returned with visibly red and watery eyes, as mentioned in the report, and his speech was unclear and slurred.
A representative acknowledged that they encouraged Young to "put some space" between themselves and someone else. However, when a video of the incident surfaced, the general public's opinion sided with Young.
Taste of Country was given four different camera perspectives, giving fans the opportunity to assess the extent of his aggression in the video above. Young has not made any comments regarding the incident on social media so far.
