After Counsell was appointed as the manager of the Chicago Cubs, he participated in the 2024 Cubs Convention, during which someone finally inquired about the reason behind his previous habit of holding the bat at a high position in the air.

Without wasting any time, I swiftly began sprinting towards first base. The spectators in the crowd erupted with immense enthusiasm and excitement. However, to my astonishment, as I lifted my head to see the outcome, Garth Brooks unexpectedly executed a remarkable diving catch in left field, preventing me from breaking my 0-4 streak.

The day after, I was set free. I had a conversation with myself, questioning why I wasn't achieving any successful hits. This reflection prompted me to raise my hands high up in the air. Surprisingly, this action proved to be beneficial and improved my performance.
