Garth Brooks, the famous country singer, had an interesting encounter with a professional baseball player that resulted in the player changing his batting stance. Craig Counsell, who is currently the manager of the Chicago Cubs, had a successful career as a major league baseball player for over a decade, from 1995 to 2007.
Counsell was famous for his unique batting stance where he raised his bat high up in the air. The reason behind his unconventional stance remained a mystery as he never provided an explanation for it.
After Counsell was appointed as the manager of the Chicago Cubs, he participated in the 2024 Cubs Convention, where an individual finally inquired about the reason behind his habit of holding the bat at a high position in the air.
He attributes the cause to Garth Brooks.
According to Counsell, during his time with the Los Angeles Dodgers at spring training, he admits to not being a skilled hitter and struggling to get any hits.
