Conner Smith has recently released his first album called "Smoky Mountains." One of the songs from the album, titled "Creek Will Rise," is gaining popularity and climbing the country music charts.
Not too far in the past, the up-and-coming talent was an average sixteen-year-old who attended a concert by one of his beloved country music artists.
During the most recent episode of Taste of Country Nights, available on demand, Smith shares a personal anecdote about his experience attending a Thomas Rhett concert in 2016, which left a lasting impression on him.
At the age of 16, I went on a date with a girl to watch a concert by Thomas Rhett. The show took place at Ascend Amphitheater, and we were seated on the lawn area. During the performance, Thomas Rhett played the song "Die a Happy Man," and I attempted to slow dance with the girl I was with, trying to create a sweet and romantic atmosphere.
"The following day, Smith stated that his partner ended their relationship."
After we share a moment of laughter, he proceeds to narrate the rest of the story. He mentions that approximately four years later, he was touring with Rhett when he thought to himself, "I suppose I had the final laugh in that situation, don't you think?"
Smith has recounted this anecdote on multiple occasions during his performances and it has become a beloved choice among the audience.
Let's discuss the ultimate form of revenge and validation in a romantic breakup.
