Thomas Rhett’s Concert Helped Conner Smith Get the Last Laugh in a Breakup

  • by

Conner Smith has recently released his first album titled "Smoky Mountains". One of the songs from the album, called "Creek Will Rise", is gaining popularity and climbing the ranks on the country music charts.

However, not too far in the past, the up-and-coming celebrity was simply an average sixteen-year-old who attended a concert to watch one of his beloved country music performers.

During the most recent episode of Taste of Country Nights, available On Demand, Smith shares a personal anecdote about his experience at a Thomas Rhett concert in 2016, which left a lasting impression on him.

At the age of 16, I had a memorable experience going on a date with a girl to a concert by Thomas Rhett. The event took place at Ascend Amphitheater, and we were seated on the lawn section. During the show, Thomas Rhett performed his song "Die a Happy Man," and I attempted to slow dance with the girl, wanting to create a romantic atmosphere.

Smith shares that the following day, his partner ended their relationship.

After sharing a moment of laughter, he proceeds to tell the rest of the story. "After that, about 4 years later, I went on tour with Rhett. It was then that I realized I had the satisfaction of having the final say in that situation," he remembers.

Smith has recounted this story multiple times during his performances and it has become a beloved choice among the audience.

Let's discuss the ultimate form of revenge and validation in a romantic breakup.
