Thomas Rhett’s Concert Helped Conner Smith Heal from Heartbreak

  • by

Conner Smith, a new artist, has recently released his first album titled "Smoky Mountains". One particular song from the album, called "Creek Will Rise", is quickly gaining popularity and climbing the country music charts.

However, not too far in the past, the up-and-coming celebrity was simply an ordinary sixteen-year-old attending a concert of one of his beloved country music performers.

During the most recent episode of Taste of Country Nights, available On Demand, Smith shares a personal anecdote about his experience at a Thomas Rhett concert in 2016 which left a significant impression on him.

At the age of 16, I had a date with a girl at a Thomas Rhett concert. I recall that the concert took place at Ascend Amphitheater and we were seated on the lawn area. During the show, Thomas Rhett performed his song "Die a Happy Man," and I attempted to slow dance with the girl in a sweet and romantic manner.

Smith states that the following day, his girlfriend ended their relationship.

After a moment of shared laughter, he proceeds with the rest of the story. He mentions that about four years later, he was on a tour with Rhett and couldn't help but think to himself, "I suppose I had the final victory in that situation."

Smith has shared this story on stage multiple times, and it is always well-received by the audience.

Let's discuss the ultimate form of revenge and validation after a romantic separation.
