  • by

Conner Smith has recently released his first album, titled "Smoky Mountains." One of the tracks from the album, called "Creek Will Rise," is gaining popularity and climbing the country music charts.

Not too far in the past, the up-and-coming talent was just an average sixteen-year-old who attended a concert by one of his beloved country music artists.

During the most recent episode of Taste of Country Nights, On Demand, Smith shares an anecdote about his experience at a Thomas Rhett concert in 2016 that had a significant effect on him.

At the age of 16, I had the opportunity to go on a date with a girl to a concert by Thomas Rhett. The event took place at Ascend Amphitheater, and we were seated on the lawn area. During the show, Thomas Rhett performed his song "Die a Happy Man." I recall attempting to slow dance with the girl and be affectionate.

Smith explains that the following day, his partner ended their relationship.

After having a good laugh together, he proceeds with the story. He mentions that about four years later, he was on tour with Rhett and he felt like he had the ultimate satisfaction, as if he had the final say in the situation.

Smith has recounted this story multiple times during his performances, and it has become a beloved choice among the audience.
